Review - Brunetti

Winnie recommended Brunetti to me and we went to try it. Was a little disappointed with the place though. At first sight, the cafe does look very attractive and inviting with its mosaic tiles and marble tables. The large array of pastries on display looks yummy too! It was quite empty when we arrived there for brunch which is something I appreciate. Some cafes like Starbucks are getting too crowded for my comfort.

However, the service really needs to be improved. There was no proper queuing system and photo-taking is not allowed. Managed to take some photos before I was told rudely that it's the company policy that I am not allowed to take any photo. I always don't understand why the boss(es) will set such a policy. Is it because they are afraid that their competitors will copy their ideas? Or they are worried that we are going to criticize their place/food? To me, it is a really ridiculous policy. Perhaps some bosses would want to enlighten me? After all, I am going to provide them with free marketing (provided that their stuff are good lah).

By the way, for those who are interested, Brunetti is located on the first floor of Tanglin Mall. They also have an outdoor seating area which I didn't explore.

I can't remember if I ordered latte or mocha but it tasted just ordinary. So-so lah. I topped up $1 for a large cup.

My cheesecake looked so pretty and yummy. It is actually quite a huge piece but pretty expensive. Think it cost about $7 plus.

Winnie ordered the banana split pancakes. It was a large portion as well.

Overall, I think that it's an ok place to chill, relax, talk or discuss stuff. It does have a nice and quiet ambience =)

Lexton's First Month Celebration

Went to my colleagues, Yenny's and Lebon's baby boy's - Lexton's first month celebration some time ago at Costa Sands Resort in Pasir Ris. It has been so long since I have gone to Costa Sands Resort. I think the last time I went there was to celebrate Christmas a couple of years ago with Andy and his friends. The place has not changed much but the people have. Okie, shall not get nostalgic.

See the cute and pretty cupcakes? I like although it's a tad too sweet.

The red eggs look pretty endearing too =)

As we arrived, the 主角 is sleeping!! He looks so cute and fragile. Much as I wanted to carry him, I did not dare. Scared that I will be too chor lor. Oops~

By the way, just look at Yenny. How can she "recover" so fast after giving birth?!?! Besides a tiny bulge in her tummy area, she doesn't even look like a mother or someone who has just given birth a month ago. Heck lah, she looked even slimmer than me. How unfair!!

Why is my face so big? Boo~!!

Our present for Baby Lexton. Guess who chose the present? Clue: Our number one Audi fan in the office.

This is the cupcake which I have chosen. Cuteee!!

Saw someone having a huge birthday celebration as we were leaving. Cool lah. It has been quite some time since I have had a huge birthday celebration. Hm.. perhaps I am a little too old for this.

Sickness

Oops~ I have just sort of recovered from a fever. Am falling sick more easily. I felt feverish on Monday evening and spent Tuesday sleeping. Don't know why I keep falling sick these days. Perhaps it's due to being too busy and stressed. Think I need to do something. Re-organise my life a little.

Review - Porn's Thai Restaurant

Remember my previous review (http://coffeeluvs.blogspot.sg/2012/01/review-porns.html) about Porn's? Well, I went there again with Robin.

OMG!! So many people queuing for Koi!

Sorry if I sound rude or anything but I just need a place to rant now. I never use to swear and I don't like to swear but now there really seem like there are many things to curse and swear about. Serious. Just what the fuck lah. Okie, I don't even bother to censor it now. As for what I wanna swear about, there are just too many. Lazy to list down in details.

Bloody hell. I didn't mean to be a late queen but I've waited more than half an hour for the bus. So ridiculous right? The day I drive around will be the day I start being punctual.

Headache

Headache, headache~ Maybe I slept too much?

Genting - 3 Days 2 Nights

Hi people!! What will you do and where will you go if you have the opportunity to go to Genting for 3 days 2 nights? Hm.. Think about it while I show you my itinerary first.

Day 1

I estimate that if we take coach, we will reach Genting at about 12-1pm. Once we reached Genting, we will need to eat lunch!! For lunch, we will dine at Restoran Hainan Kitchen which is located on level 2 of  First World Plaza. I wanna eat the Hainanese Chicken Rice!! After lunch, we will go and pick strawberries at Highlands Strawberry Farm. Despite going to Genting for a few times in the past, I have never been to the Strawberry Farm. So now if I have the chance, I MUST go there! I also want to go to the World Of Phalaenopsis Orchid Farm. We are Singaporeans and Orchid is our national flower so we need to go and take photos of the beautiful orchids.

If we have time after that, we can go shopping before dinner. Saw a poster somewhere that SaSa is having a mid-year mega sale with discounts up to 70%. OMG!! There's always something to buy at SaSa. Moreover, I wanna top up my cosmetics stuff. For dinner, I hope to try some oriental food at Genting Palace Restaurant. The majestic Genting Palace Restaurant serves exquisite Cantonese Cuisine with an ambience to match. After dinner, we shall head over to the casino. How can we go to Genting without going to the casino? Haha~

Day 2

Plan to wake up at about 9am. Will head over to Good Friend Express at Genting Highlands Hotel for breakfast. Read some good reviews on tripadvisor about the yummy dim sum served there. After breakfast, we will go to the Theme Parks. How can we go to Genting without visiting their Theme Parks? I particularly wanna go to the outdoor and water theme park. Whee~ For lunch, we'll just have a simple one at either the outdoor or water theme park. After a day of fun, we will head over to Ming Ren Restaurant for dinner. Heard that it was named "The Best Restaurant" by Malaysia Tatler in 2010. We will be able to enjoy a feast of authentic Xinjiang cuisine. Sounds cool~ After dinner, we can either go sing KTV or bowl. At night, maybe we can head over to one of the bars for drinks. Can get to know other bloggers better! =)

Day 3

Last day in Genting! Need to eat a good and heavy breakfast before home sweet home. Plan to go to Coffee Terrace for breakfast buffet. After breakfast, it will be SHOPPING time!! There are more than 60 retail outlets there. Have to shop!! Maybe we can grab a quick bite for lunch or takeaway some food to eat on the way back in the coach. Should reach Singapore around evening/night time.

Ta-da~!! So how do you all find my itinerary? Does it make you feel like going to Genting? If yes, then book your holiday with Genting’s iHoliday booking engine for a convenient one-stop solution!

PS: Do you know why I've got no pictures/photos in this blog post? Coz I wanna go and take photos myself instead of googling for pictures/photos and paste here. If I get to go to Genting, rest assured that I will flood my blog with many photos.

London 2012 Olympics

The Olympics is over! We have to wait for another 4 years before we can get to see it again. United States is top with 46 gold medals, 29 silver and 29 bronze medals. That's a whooping total of 104 medals! China came in second with 38 gold, 27 silver and 23 bronze medals. Great Britain is third with 29 gold, 17 silver and 19 bronze medals. Singapore is number 75 with 2 bronze medals. Both are won by our table tennis girls. It doesn't really matter if we won any medal. What's most important is that the athletes put in their utmost efforts and play a fair game. Constantly challenging themselves to do better and break their own records. Of course, winning a medal is extra bonus.

There are a few great Olympians and some great matches to watch. Offhandedly, I can only remember Michael Phelps. He is such a great swimmer! Too bad, this is his last time in the Olympics. He will be retiring after this. I love how his family is so supportive of him and his swimming career.

Gambette everyone. I am sure many of you are good athletes in your own field. Work hard and your efforts will definitely pay off. You may be the next great Olympian. Will definitely catch the Olympics 4 years later. Hope that I will get a chance to watch it live (not on TV or online) one day. That will be so cool!!

If you are interested, here's the closing ceremony:

Happy Birthday Mummy

Here's wishing my mother a very happy birthday!! =)

Life can be very simple but we humans like to complicate things. Sometimes, it is really no trouble but we ask for trouble. Or perhaps we are not those people so we can't understand why other people think like that. Sometimes, it is not easy to fully understand ourselves let alone other people. Anyway, I love reading blogs. Some can be interesting, inspirational and make me think about stuff from a different perspective.

Okie, I'm having such a headache now. Perhaps due to insufficient sleep.

Review - Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant

Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck Restaurant is located at level 5 of Paragon shopping mall. It is one of the many branches of the Imperial Treasure Group which specialises in Peking Duck. The restaurant has a posh interior divided into a few dining areas. They also have private rooms. Can request for it if you go in a big group. Reservations are a must, especially if you are want to order the Peking Duck as there is a limited supply daily. It is usually crowded on weekends. For your information, the Peking Duck cost $68.

Bought Coach as a gift. It is so beautifully wrapped!

Went to Marina Bay Sands (MBS) with Diana after lunch.
